Those who are looking to start a business are looking
towards success. Starting a business is not as hard as it may seem. The
most important factor to begin your vision is to actually have a vision. Your ideas and creativity will
lead you to the success that you are reaching.
If you are currently a student, you are not required to wait
until you receive a degree to start your own company. I interviewed three
people who all shared their stories of inspiration and expanding their brand.
Marquita
Rowell, founder of Children and Parents Everywhere (CAPE) Tutoring, has a LOT to juggle but that does not stop her from being a young community leader. The 24-year-old business-marketing senior at Auburn
University at Montgomery, is also a mother of two, wife, full-time employee, and has
been running her own non-profit organization since high school. Her program has expanded its partnership with organizations throughout the River Region, such as, YMCA of Greater Montgomery. Her services are currently free of charge and operates off of donations and grants. Over the years,
Mrs. Rowell has tutored and supplied children from K-12 with the help of college students and other sponsors in Montgomery. Her story is quite
remarkable as she plans on expanding her free tutoring services nationally.

Owner of MDante' Photography, , Marcus Dorsey, is just 21-years-old and has almost nine years of photography under his
belt already. Currently a graphic design major at Troy University, Dorsey became a business owner at 18-years-old. With the challenges of being a full-time college student who was fresh out of high school, he recalls moments of regret. Through the obstacles of getting licences and building his clientele, Dorsey shares some
insight on how to run your own photography business.
Dexter Suarez, owner of Suar-Con Heating and Cooling, is no rookie to the business-owning world. After retiring from the military, Suarez realized that experience is not always enough and that education can take you just as far. After recently receiving his master’s degree in human resources, Suarez shares why it is important to expand your knowledge along with your business.
